Artesania Latina : U.S. Constellation (American Frigate 1798)
Description
It is difficult to find in the annals of the Navy to sail a ship with such diverse activities and years of service. In fact, the U.S. Constellation began her career in 1798 and completed in 1955. Their missions were varied; seize shipment numbers, to prevent the annexation of the Hawaiian Islands by the British in 1843 or carry food to Ireland during the Great Famine of potatoes from 1845 to 1849. It was also the first U.S. warship to visit China in 1842 and designated training ship in 1871. Today the ship is visited by millions of tourists in Baltimore. If this frigate could talk, would tell us much of American history.
